Chicago provides a lot of support for teen pregnancy. According to Fox Chicago’s reporter, a news channel, reported that the “Simpson Academy for Young Women, a school that caters to teens who are pregnant or mothers, opened a new clinic run by Rush University College of Nursing and connected to Simpson.”[1] Chicago’s schools have clinics and organizations that help teens during their pregnancy, but not only schools put in our neighborhood there’s places where they also help them. As the Lawndale news website stated, that the Universidad Popular, by Hamlin and 28, “announces the launch of Free Prenatal Clinic Services for pregnant teens and a Support Healing Group for new mothers and pregnant girls in the community of Little Village.”[2] Chicago has many organizations that help teenager’s mothers, but there also organizations to reduce teenage pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases. As Chicago’s ex-governor stated in a government website that “The DHS Teen Pregnancy Prevention program provides grants to community agencies to and the incidence of HIV/AIDS.” Not only that, but he also announced the “number of babies born to Illinois teenagers continued a nine-year decline in 2003, falling to a record low of 9.7 percent.”[3] Chicago is always willing to help teen pregnancy.
